With the growth and development of Cricklewood, a new St Peter’s church was established in the late 1800s. First, a small tin hut building, and then later in 1891, a Victorian style church, St Peter’s was established to accommodate the growing population. The parish blossomed and the church experienced and benefitted from various seasons of growth. A church hall was added in 1910. The main parish church on Cricklewood Lane eventually became structurally unsound and was demolished in the 1970s. The parish was also facing challenges, with a decline in numbers as populations changed. Eventually St Peter’s was closed and the church buildings were sold with a small remnant group meeting at other rented locations.

Since that time, there have been various attempts to re-start St Peters. The parish of St Peter’s is now officially combined with St John’s West Hendon.
